How are individual standings calculated after scores are saved?

Scorekeeping is optional. Turn on “Score entry · Individual standings” above the schedule to show score fields for each match and the standings.

Only matches saved as complete count

After entering both teams' scores, select “Save as complete” for the result to count toward the standings. Empty fields and numbers still being entered are not completed results. A 0:0 score also counts as a draw if you enter both values and save the match as complete.

Each team's score must be an integer from 0–999. This is an input limit, not a tennis rule. The app does not determine when sets end or apply tiebreak rules, so agree on the scoring unit your group will record before you start.

Ranking points and points difference

  • Win: each player on the winning team receives 3 ranking points
  • Draw: each player on the team receives 1 ranking point
  • Loss: each player on the losing team receives 0 ranking points
  • Points difference: total points scored minus total points conceded across completed matches

The doubles team's score is not divided between its two players. If Team A wins 6:4, both players on Team A receive 3 ranking points, 6 points scored, 4 points conceded, and a points difference of +2.

How ranks are decided

Players are ranked first by total ranking points, highest first. If ranking points are equal, the player with the higher cumulative points difference comes first. If both values are equal, they share a rank. If two players share 1st place, the next rank is 3rd. Players with no matches counted as complete are not ranked.

Calculation example

Suppose only the following two matches have been saved as complete.

  • Match 1: Minsu and Jihun vs. Seoyeon and Yujin, 6:4
  • Match 2: Minsu and Seoyeon vs. Jihun and Yujin, 3:3

The results are as follows.

  • Minsu: 1 win, 1 draw, 4 ranking points, 9 scored and 7 conceded, points difference +2, tied for 1st
  • Jihun: 1 win, 1 draw, 4 ranking points, 9 scored and 7 conceded, points difference +2, tied for 1st
  • Seoyeon: 1 draw, 1 loss, 1 ranking point, 7 scored and 9 conceded, points difference −2, tied for 3rd
  • Yujin: 1 draw, 1 loss, 1 ranking point, 7 scored and 9 conceded, points difference −2, tied for 3rd

Other players with no completed results are shown without a rank. Being assigned to a match does not count toward the standings if that match is incomplete.

Editing results and things to remember

  • If you entered a score incorrectly, select “Edit score”, then save the match as complete again
  • “Reset score” removes that completed result and recalculates the standings
  • Turning off scorekeeping does not delete saved results
  • Unsaved score entries are temporary. Check that you have saved them as complete before refreshing the page or switching sessions
  • Changing players or teams, deleting matches, or regenerating the schedule may affect related results. Check the confirmation dialog for the number of completed matches whose results will be deleted
  • Standings use total ranking points, without adjusting for the average per match or win rate. If players have played different numbers of matches, take that difference into account when interpreting the standings
  • Standings are provisional until all matches are finished

Even when scorekeeping is turned off, JSON and CSV exports include existing completed scores. Check the contents before sharing files with other people.
